On Sept. 23, 2015, the Commission on Presidential Debates announced that Washington University in St. Louis would be one of four sites to host presidential or vice presidential debates during the 2016 election season.
Washington University will host a presidential debate on Oct. 9, 2016. Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton, along with other university and student leaders, shared the news with the university community and the St. Louis media at a news conference that day.
