Want to advocate for (or against) a government initiative that sparks your passion? Then join other Washington University students as you role-play as U.S. senators and work in small groups to pass a full federal budget.
Discuss and debate how to raise and distribute government funds to ensure the country runs smoothly. The options range from limiting charitable deductions and trimming funding for the arts to canceling the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program and ending tax subsidies for the oil and gas industries.
The Concord Coalition, a group that promotes fiscal responsibility in the federal government, will be guiding participants through the activity.
