For the fourth time as chancellor of Washington University in St. Louis, Mark S. Wrighton will be the man who officially welcomes the world to our campus. He’s also one of a handful who gets to meet the candidates — meaning that for a few moments, he has the ear of the next president of the United States.
What will he say to them? You’ll have to watch. And see what he says about why the university continues to host the debates. Here’s a hint: It involves the young people of our community, and the reality that, according to Wrighton, “they’re seeing history.”
