Directions to Washington University in St. Louis
Washington University's Danforth Campus is centrally located in the St. Louis metropolitan area and is readily accessible from the major highways. All media entering campus for the first time must check in at the Media Credentialing Center, Room 410, of the Laboratory Science Building on the Danforth Campus. The Lab Science Building is on Throop Drive, next to the Ann W. Olin Women's Building. On-campus signage will direct media to the designated parking in an adjacent garage. Follow the signs to the 4th floor of the Lab Science Building.
Driving directions to campus:
- From the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport: Head east on I-70 to I-170 south. Take the Forest Park Parkway exit and, after a little less than 3 miles, make a right onto Skinker. Make a right onto Brookings Drive, turn right on Hoyt Drive, left on Throop Drive, and follow the signs to media parking area.
- From the East on US 40 / I-64: Take Clayton Rd. exit. Turn right onto Skinker Blvd. Make a left onto Brookings Drive, turn right on Hoyt Drive, left on Throop Drive, and follow the signs to media parking area.
- From the West on I-44: Take exit 282 for Laclede Station Rd. and turn left (north bound). Make a slight right at Big Bend Blvd. Make a right onto Clayton. Make a left onto Skinker and then a left onto Brookings Drive, turn right on Hoyt Drive, left on Throop Drive, and follow the signs to media parking area.
Taxi: The Lambert Airport Taxi company has taxis available 24/7 from one of several taxi stands at the airport terminal. Taxis pick-ups also may be requested by calling County Cab (314-991-5300) and Laclede Cab (314-652-3456). Cabs will be allowed to make drop-offs at the Media Credential Center and pick-ups from Simon Hall, both on WUSTL's Danforth Campus.
Metrolink: Follow the signs in the airport terminal for the Metrolink light rail mass transit system. Board the train heading eastbound with "Shiloh-Scott" on the destination display. Take this train to the Forest Park station and deboard. Walk to the other side of the platform and wait for a westbound train with "Shrewsbury/I-44" on the destination display. Get off at the University City/Big Bend stop. Signage will direct media to walk east along the north side of Forest Park Parkway (the side of the street across from campus) to the pedestrian crossing across Forest Park Parkway at Throop Drive. Cross the Parkway and turn right onto Throop Drive, following it south, then east to the Media Credentialing Center on the fourth floor of the Laboratory Science Building. ATM Locations
Automated teller machines (ATMs) are located at Mallinckrodt Student Center (#63 on campus map) on the upper level and outside at the Hilltop Bakery entrance, and at the northwest corner of Seigle Hall (#91) by the Tao Tennis Courts. The ATMs take cards with the following logos: Visa, Plus, MasterCard, Cirrus, American Express, Discover, Maestro, Honor, and Star.

Food and Shopping on Campus
The University offers a variety of eating places, from those featuring coffee and doughnuts to those providing full-scale meals. All places accept cash. Currently, only Ibby's in the Danforth University Center, the Law School Café, and the Knight Center accept credit cards. All buildings can be located on the campus map.
The Anheuser-Busch Hospitality Tent will be open on October 2 for credentialed media and visitors only.

Off Campus
Just north of the Danforth Campus is the Delmar Loop, a vibrant historic district with more than 120 restaurants, boutiques, specialty shops, galleries and entertainment venues. Home to the St. Louis Walk of Fame, the Loop recently was named one of 10 Great Streets in America by The American Planning Association.
The Central West End, on the eastern edge of Forest Park, features more than 60 restaurants and outdoor cafes as well as 300 shops, galleries and antique stores, all set amongst leafy streets and stunning 19th- and early 20th-century architecture.
Just west of campus is the City of Clayton, the St. Louis County seat and home to several major corporations. The central business district features an eclectic selection of upscale and casual dining alongside galleries, hotels and elegant boutiques.

Tours of the Debate Venue
Washington University will again offer public tours of the vice presidential debate venue. Tours will be given on Sunday, Sept. 28, from 12–6 p.m., and Monday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m.–6 p.m. Tours begin at the main entrance of the Athletic Complex.
Individuals and school groups are invited to take the tour. Groups should contact Terri Brennan in advance at (314) 935-5040 to schedule a time. Please note that cameras and camera phones will not be allowed inside the debate venue.
