Security Alert
Due to increased security for the Presidential Debate on October 8, access to the campus will be limited on Thursday, October 7, and Friday, October 8.

Only Washington University students, faculty, and staff with a university identification card, or guests of the Chancellor or the Commission on Presidential Debates, may enter or remain on the campus on October 7 and October 8.

Tours of the Debate Venue
Washington University expects to offer limited public tours of the Debate venue October 4 - 5. Tours will begin at 10:00 a.m., with the final tours concluding by 6:00 p.m. Groups (including schools) should contact Bill Woodward in advance at (314) 935-5040 for arrangements. Please note that cameras and camera phones will not be allowed inside the Debate venue.

Buildings closed on October 8
Access to buildings on the Hilltop campus will be significantly reduced the afternoon and evening of Oct. 8. At 3:30 p.m. that day, all buildings on campus will be locked and access to all offices and classrooms will require key card access and authorized identification. Classes after 3 p.m. will be canceled. Hilltop campus employees who do not need to be on campus and can work from home should discuss that possibility with their supervisors.

South 40, The Village and fraternities open only to current residents on Oct. 8
No guests will be allowed in the Hilltop residential areas, including the South 40, The Village, and fraternities on Oct. 8. Only individuals with a current valid Washington University ID will have access to any university residential areas.

Students, faculty and staff who will be on the Hilltop campus on Oct. 8 must have a current, valid Washington University ID or an official university-issued credential. Only those persons who are properly credentialed may enter or remain in the secure perimeter surrounding the Athletic Complex or at other times as determined by security personnel.

Athletic Complex closes on Sept. 30 for 'Debate Week'
The Athletic Complex will close to campus and public use at 10 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 30 to prepare for the presidential debate on Friday, Oct. 8 at Washington University. It will reopen on Monday, Oct. 11.
