The Presidential Image: 60 Years of the Best in White House Photography

This exhibition presents 68 prize-winning photographs of presidents from Franklin Roosevelt through George W. Bush. This exhibit is a joint effort between Pictures of the Year International (held at the University of Missouri) and the University of Miami School of Communication.

Presidential Debates at Washington University

Washington University in St. Louis hosted presidential debates in 1992 (George H. W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and Ross Perot) and 2000 (Al Gore and George W. Bush). This exhibit includes memorabilia and photographs of the event from University Archives.

Assembly Series: William Kristol

Conservative political analyst and popular neoconservative thinker William Kristol will present "The 2004 Election: What's at Stake?" as part of the Assembly Series. Widely recognized as one of the nation's leading political analysts and commentators, Kristol appears regularly as a political commentator on Fox News Sunday and the Fox News Channel.

Due to a bout with pneumonia, Michael Moore has had to cancel his Thursday talk at the Pageant. Hold onto your ticket as the Campus Programming Council is working closely with Moore, The Pageant, and others to reschedule the show. "Selling the Presidency"

Modern political campaigns extensively rely upon advertising to market candidates. Many question whether these ads actually tell the truth about the candidates and how manipulative these ads may be in changing voter decisions. This program will feature two Washington University faculty members: Frank Oros, assistant professor in advertising design, School of Art; and Todd Abrams, adjunct professor of marketing, Olin School of Business. They will show a selection of Bush and Kerry television campaign ads and share their perspectives. Following the presentation, refreshments will be provided between 7:30-8:00pm. Co-sponored by The Center for the Study of Ethics and Human Values and Student Union.

Edison Theatre
Student Union and the Center for the Study of Ethics and Human Values are co-sponsoring a post-Debate discussion with various political experts. The event will be moderated by a Washington University undergraduate student.
Mo Rocca

Graham Chapel
Mo Rocca, political satirist, will be at Graham Chapel following the debate to give an hour long talk and entertain questions from the audience. This will be followed by a book signing of his recently released book, All the Presidents Pets. This event is only for Washington University students living in on-campus housing with tickets and a Washington University ID. Tickets are not being sold. Students living on campus who wish to get tickets must enter a lottery with their Residential College and can do this through their RCD.
Rock the Vote Concert

Brookings Quadrangle
Rock the Vote is a nonprofit and nonpartisan media partner of MTV that tours college campuses encouraging political activism. Confirmed musical groups include Dan Dyer, Shelley Fairchild and Wylde Bunch with St. Juste. The concert is free and open only to WUSTL students, faculty and staff with valid ID.
