Traffic and parking information for the Hilltop Campus
Information on parking will be added to this web page as
it becomes known. Because traffic and parking arrangements are subject
to change, please refer to this web page routinely before making final
travel plans to and from the campus on Oct. 16 and 17.

TRAFFIC
 |
Big Bend will be closed, between
Forsyth and Millbrook, to pedestrian and vehicle traffic on Oct. 17
after the morning rush hour (approx. 8:30 a.m.). Big Bend will remain
closed until after the debate. |

Northbound Big Bend between Wydown
and Forsyth will be closed to vehicle traffic no later than 11 a.m.,
Oct. 17, and will remain closed until after the debate. |
 |
Forsyth will be closed, between Olympian
Way and Big Bend, to general vehicle traffic no later than 11 a.m.,
Oct. 17, and will remain closed until after the debate. Traffic will
only be permitted on Forsyth from Skinker. Vehicles with debate parking
permits or credentials may enter campus at a vehicle checkpoint at
Forsyth and Skinker. Lot 47 in front of the Music Building will be
used as a turnaround in front of the barricades at Olympian Way. |

The Shepley Drive entrance to the
South 40 will be closed all day on Oct. 17. All South 40 traffic will
enter from Wydown. A two-way traffic plan for Shepley will be in effect
that day. |
 |
Major arteries in the vicinity may be blocked
periodically on Oct. 17 when the motorcades of the presidential
candidates arrive and depart from the Washington University Athletic
Complex. The times of these interruptions usually are not announced
in advance, so motorists are urged to take alternate routes that
day.

PARKING
 |
The university has leased 1,000 spaces
in a secure lot at the Municipal Opera in Forest Park for Oct. 16
and 17. The upper lot will accommodate the media, and the lower lot
is for faculty, staff and students. Shuttles will take parkers from
the Muny to the Brookings Hall steps. The lot will open for media
at 4 a.m. (CST) on Oct. 17, with shuttle service. Shuttle service
will begin at 7 a.m. (CST) on Oct. 17 for Washington University faculty,

Parking will be available in the
North and South Brookings lots, Millbrook Garage and, for staff
of the Alumni House and the Music Department in Arts & Sciences,
in the Wohl Garage on the South 40, space permitting. The Alumni
House lot will close at midnight, Oct. 16. 150 spaces at the east
end of the South Brookings lot, and 250 spaces at the east end of
the North Brookings lot, will be closed on Oct. 17. |

The lot east of the Athletic Complex will
be closed from 6:30 a.m. Oct. 9 through the debate. It will be available
only to vendors and contractors. |

The small lot north of the Athletic Complex
will close at midnight Oct. 9 to make room for an Anheuser-Busch Cos.
Inc. tent. Anheuser-Busch is the official sponsor of this year's debates. |

Olympian Way from the Francis Field gate
to the School of Law will close at midnight Oct. 15. Parking will
still be available adjacent to Simon Hall until midnight Oct. 16,
when all lots in the vicinity will be closed. |

Goldfarb Hall parking lots will be closed
at 4 p.m. Oct. 17 for an alumni event. (Cars will be towed if necessary.) |

Any unauthorized cars remaining in closed
lots will be removed. |
SHUTTLES
 |
There will be no shuttle service between
Wohl and Mallinckrodt Centers on Oct. 17 and the Lewis Center route
will stop at 12:30 p.m. All remaining shuttles will begin and end
at the Brookings Hall steps. |
