Welcome to Washington University in St. Louis, host of the third presidential debate of 2000. The university, the St. Louis community and the Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) are working hard to make your visit as productive and enjoyable as possible. Airline information

US Airways will offer special fares to designated media covering the 2000 Presidential Debates. Travel under this program is valid to and from St. Louis. These special fares are valid in conjunction with specified rules and restrictions and are applicable for travel from all points on US Airways' route system within the Continental United States. These fares are not combinable with other discounts or promotions and must be ticketed by US Airways. Identification verifying the eligibility of the traveler may be required.

Travel is valid from Sept. 2 to Oct. 20, 2000.

Lambert St. Louis International Airport

Most out-of-town media flying into St. Louis will do so via this airport. The airport offers a comprehensive web site, including airport maps, details on airport parking, phone numbers for local cab and car rental companies, hotel information, local weather and links to other web sites with basic information on St. Louis. http://www.lambert-stlouis.com

MetroLink

Metrolink, the St. Louis region's light rail system, has two stations at the airport -- the Main Terminal and the East Terminal. The initial phase operates from Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, along I-70, through the University of Missouri-St. Louis campus, along Forest Park, past Washington University Medical Center, under Union Station, through the Washington/8th Street tunnel under downtown St. Louis, and across the rail deck of the historic Eads Bridge to downtown East St. Louis. Visitors can ride the MetroLink to downtown St. Louis for $3 (adults). http://www.bi-state.org/light.htm

Finding the Washington University campus

From the airport, take US Interstate 70 east, to US Interstate 170 south, to Forest Park Parkway. Go east on Forest Park Parkway for approximately two miles. At the second stoplight, turn right onto Big Bend Boulevard. At the spotlight, make the first left onto Forsyth Boulevard. The university's Francis Field will be on your left. Go left on Olympian Way and follow the signs to the Athletic Complex, site of the presidential debate.
