Washington University in St. Louis and AT&T Broadband welcome C-Span School Bus to St. Louis ST. LOUIS, MOŠ The award-winning C-SPAN School Bus, a 45-foot television production studio and demonstration center, continues its trek around the country with a visit to St. Louis on Tuesday, Oct. 17 and Maryland Heights on Wednesday, Oct. 18. The C-SPAN School Bus will first visit Washington University in St. Louis, host of the final presidential debate between Republican nominee Gov. George W. Bush and Democratic nominee Vice President Al Gore, from 1 - 5 pm (CST). The Bus will park at Mallinckrodt Student Center for tours and demonstrations to the general public. Now on its sixth nationwide tour, the C-SPAN School Bus continues to visit schools and cable communities to introduce students, educators and viewers to the political process and C-SPAN programming. While aboard the bus, visitors will learn more about the network's philosophy, programming goals, information and education resources and critical viewing techniques. For over six years the C-SPAN School Bus has visited all fifty states and state capitols with the help of local cable systems. This visit is co-sponsored by Washington University in St. Louis and AT&T Broadband, which provides C-SPAN on channel 26 and C-SPAN 2 on channel 19 to the St. Louis area. More than 100 systems are currently scheduled to host the Bus throughout the 2000-01 school year.
